My good friend Jenny has a list of 30 things she'd like to do before she turns 30. She's making great progress in marking things off as she approaches the big day. I loved this idea when I first heard about it, but being the lazy person that I am, didn't actually make one for myself. But last night, while I was out with friends celebrating me being "30 Flirty and Thriving" we came up with a list of 30 things I'm proud to say I accomplished before I turned 30. So here it is, in no apparent order (and I'm sure its missing some really great things, so if you can think of them, please let me know!)
Meredith's 30 before 30:
1. Spend 24 hours alone in the wilderness
2. Hike Half Dome
3. Climb Half Dome
4. Hike a 14er
5. Travel internationally alone
6. Earn a Masters degree
7. Shave my head
8. Get bangs
9. Drive across the country
10. Drink a bottle of wine
11. Buy a scooter
12. Start a retirement plan
13. Throw my parents an anniversary party
14. Risk being hurt for love
15. Parallel park in San Francisco
16. Perform on stage in front of hundreds of people
17. Surf with dolphins
18. Run a 12k
19. Watch the sunrise over the Sierras
20. Kayak class IV rapids
21. Lead a rock climb
22. Exchange phone numbers with a stranger
23. Have 'honorable mention in another person's relationship with Christ' (after an AW Tozer quote)
24. Get a tattoo
25. Present at a conference (and win an award!)
26. Apply to be a contestant on a TV show
27. Call 911
28. Save a life (separate from #27)
29. Own a Patagonia jacket
30. Spin the wheel at Fast Eddies (and win $5 in beer) a Spokane birthday tradition

We could add, Be the greatest daughter ever!!
Mom
this list is awesome.
you should clarify that #15 was a van. A big one, right?
congratulations on 30!
I have a story that I need to tell you about #10. :) Cool list Mer, you're pretty rad and all. xo
... whoa... awesome list! I'm inspired and feeling a bit un-lived! (which is not a feeling I'm used to.)
I think the list is incomplete without:
maintain friendships for 15 and more years with a handful of people. That's certainly an accomplishment... especially considering at least one of the people who would qualify for the list you've friended.
Great list! There are a few I would like to know more about. Maybe I would have felt better about myself if I made a list of the things I have already accomplished instead of the things I still want to do!
Awesome list! I am working through my 30 before 30 at the moment!
