I am a woman who values my weekend. Sleeping is one of my most favorite activities... of course, it takes forever for me to get into bed at night (note the time of this post), but once I'm in bed I have a hard time getting out. So Saturday mornings are sacred self-care time for me. No work. No responsibilities. No reason not to watch 3 episodes of (insert any number of hour long TV shows here). Perfect.
So you know it would take a lot for me to make plans prior to noon on a Saturday. (Unless, of course, I'm traveling and/or visiting people - weekends away don't count in this).
This weekend at home, however, was INSANE. Friday night/Saturday morning at 3am, after only a 20 minute nap, I showed up at my local REI to camp out for the Scratch and Dent Sale with some friends. When they opened the doors at 9:30 I was sixth in line and scored a killer deal on a jacket I was smitten with... seriously, smitten.
Following the sale, I scored a 2 hour nap before taking a van full of college women up to Camp Reed for 24 hours of Women of Courage craziness. Lots of good conversation, food, and Farkle. At 3pm Sunday, I drove the van home, tended to a student situation, then went to a potluck with a bunch of strangers who I have the joy of worshiping with every Sunday... well, every Sunday that I'm home, of course. I may not have known these people, but what a great time of getting to know fellow adventures and share in the journey of faith with them.
Then, to top it all off, I race back to campus to catch one of my favorite musicians, Tyrone Wells, in a free concert not 50 yards from my front door!
Sigh... even with an extra hour this weekend, I have no idea how I fit it all in. If there were a badge for true Weekend Warriors, I would write to my local governing chapter and request one.
Now it's time to apologize to my bed... apparently it has some abandonment issues.

Um, no pics of the jacket?! At the very least you got a smokin' deal, for that -I'm happy for you. :) (but that was a crazy wait my friend, but 6th in line...nice!)
Go get in that bed! And sleep a few hours for me!
